This absolutely fabulous peony, Claire de Lune is one of my early spring favourites. Its pale single flowers with a mounding centre of yellow stamens seem to float above large, deep green leaves. As the sweet scented flower ages it pales in colour. A little piece of the moon in flower form.

This ancient oak was created using only vertical lines. Thousands of strokes to create this wondrous tree of life. The tree of life is a common idea in cultures throughout the world. It represents, at times, the source of life, a force that connects all lives, or the cycle of life and death itself.
